As one of the most popular anime’s these days, it isn’t a surprise that a video game based on the storyline would do well. However, I’m not sure if SEGA, Aniplex, and CyberConnect2 were prepared to reach the 1 million units sold milestone for Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles only two weeks after launch! Regardless of popularity, this is a rather impressive milestone to hit so quickly.
Fans of the anime and fans of anime games alike have been sharing their positive reviews of this game as it really is a well-designed title. Playing through the story, venturing through actual areas of the anime, and fighting against all of the characters and demons you see in the show is easily what makes it a top-tier title. This isn’t the first time that CyberConnect2 has done an amazing job with an anime game, but it is nice to see that they are consistent with bringing an anime to video game adaptation while maintaining the heart of the anime’s experience.
While this game may have some tweaking to do to further improve the fighting, it is quickly climbing the ladder of popularity and, at this rate, could very well become the next esports fighting game to hit the circuit. If you haven’t checked out this game yet, it might be time to look into why so many people have added Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles to their gaming library.
