BORDERLANDS 3's Revenge Of The Cartels Seasonal Event Starts Tomorrow

Starting tomorrow (April 23rd), Borderlands 3 players will be able to experience the long awaited “Revenge of the Cartels” seasonal event. The new event features a brand new area for players to explore, new enemy types to fight, limited-time challenges to complete, and tons of legendary loot for players to obtain.

Everyone’s favorite Saurian, Maurice, has gotten mixed up with the Eridium Cartel, and is indebted to their kingpin, Joey Ultraviolet. In order to help Maurice, players will need to seek out Joey Ultraviolet and his thugs at their tropical hideout, Villa Ultraviolet.

When logging on to Borderlands 3 for the first time during the seasonal event, players will receive a repeatable quest from Maurice. This quest must be completed before players are able to visit Villa Ultraviolet. During the duration of the event, players will find neon-glowing Cartel Operatives wandering around the galaxy, including DLC areas. These operatives are the key to finding Villa Ultraviolet, as whenever they are killed, reinforcements will enter the battlefield to avenge them. When the reinforcements are killed, they will drop some hideout coordinates. When enough hideout coordinates have been obtained, Maurice will open a portal that will take players straight to Villa Ultraviolet.

After reaching the hideout, players will need to fight their way through 1 of 3 different gangs present in the Revenge of the Cartels seasonal event; among them are CryptoSec, The Burnt Ends, and The Purpatrators. Each gang has its own legendary loot pool, so players will definitely want to hit up Villa Ultraviolet multiple times.

On top of the legendary loot, players can also complete 18 limited-time challenges that will grant them access to various skins and weapon trinkets themed after the event.

Revenge of the Cartels begins on April 23rd, and ends June 4th. Just like previous events, players will have the option to turn off the event at the main menu if they do not wish to partake in the festivities.
