The E3 excitement is already palpable and what better way to get ready for all the craziness that's to come than with more details and previews of Star Wars: Battlefront II. The EA Play pre-E3 event kicks off this weekend and with it comes a first look at a new Battlefront II gameplay trailer as well as a live stream of a 40-player battle set in Naboo's capital featuring the Assault on Theed.

Assault on Theed is one of the new multiplayer battles from the prequel trilogy. In this map, Clone Troopers will take on the invading Battle Droids of the Separatists pitting Republic forces against a massive Multi-Troop Transport in an attempt to halt its progress toward the palace. Of course, Darth Maul and other cross-era heroes will also be entering the massive multiplayer battlefield.

EA Play is set to begin on June 10th at 12PM PST at which time a new gameplay trailer is also expected to make its debut. The Assault on Theed live gameplay multiplayer battle is scheduled to begin shortly after at 12:30PM PST.
